Position: Maintenance Technician 2 Salary Grade: 6Primary Purpose: Maintain, test and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Repair production or HVAC machinery and equipment for Burr Oak Tool Inc. Implement and practice effective 5S and participate in regular team 5S audits. Set an example of working hard and doing the right things, exhibit energy and positivity. Accountable to work independently with standardized instructions to achieve results. Solve semi-routine issues utilizing problem solving analysis and prioritizing processes and routines. Understand and achieve Reasonable Expectations (REs) for current position and responsibilities (excellent productivity and quality) and participate in regular team process audits. Engage in clear, courteous, effective, honest, and open communications with team members and others within and outside the company. Develop and seek positive relationships; actively participate in regular huddles and goal setting. Responsibilities: Quantifiable metrics to which a person is held accountableRegularly study and utilize specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematics to understand machine functionality and troubleshoot errors. Troubleshoot and solve problems related to mechanical and electrical devices, including motors and circuits. Arrive at work and position consistently on time; remain present and engaged the entire assigned shift. Able to categorize, recognize, and document patterns in process and problem solving. Accept responsibility for consistently excellent productivity and quality. Participate in regular employee reviews including setting and achieving goals. Uses hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring and testing instruments, including an electrical meter, to diagnose and fix problems. Inspect machinery and equipment visually and with electrical and electronic testing equipment. Consistently and regularly proactively troubleshoot production machines to achieve optimal performance. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Plan, assign and perform preventative maintenance to curtail normal wear and tear of building, machines, and equipment. Skills: Essential qualifications and functions gained through training and experienceAssociate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications. A minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience required. Facility maintenance preferred. Must qualify for forklift license. Universal certification (for HVAC role). Must have good math skills and ability to read measuring equipment. High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible. Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
