Warehouse Driver The most critical requirement for this position is for the individual to possess a Class A- CDL license with no "E" restriction, be able to operate a manual transmission, and maintain said license for the duration of employment. This position is responsible for various job duties which are explained below. The position will require the employee to be responsible for the opening and loading of products, along with other general warehouse duties as assigned. Please note this is NOT a touchless freight position. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for opening and inspecting product for transport to our various showrooms throughout the company. Ensure merchandise is accurate and free of damage, report quality variances. Ability to operate the handheld scanner to process all merchandise. Operate and maintain equipment in a clean manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Off load incoming merchandise and load outgoing merchandise. Operate and maintain various company vehicles to include but not limited to service vans, and 26' Straight trucks, 53 ft manual tractor trailer, and/or demountable rail trailer system. Assist customers with pick-ups when necessary. Run special same day deliveries and/or accompany a delivery route when necessary. Minimum requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities): Must possess a valid and current CDL-A license in good standing with the applicable motor vehicle department. Must have a good driving record with no more than 4 points. Must be able to pass a DOT physical. Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented. Be able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to read and write in English. Must be able to use hand tools effectively. Ability to lift heavy furniture safely and with assistance while moving merchandise in various positions without causing damage to merchandise or property. Also includes working indoors in a warehouse environment which is subject to temperature changes not easily controlled by heating or air conditioning. The physical demands of this position are considered very heavy. Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work. Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time
