Substitute Athletic Trainer

Summary: This position provides temporary coverage in place of the regularly scheduled employee. The substitute athletic trainer works with student-athletes, who are involved with an athletic team in the prevention of injuries and illnesses, the recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of injuries and illnesses, the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries and illnesses, and the administration of the healthcare system. This position works to ensure that the student-athlete is able to participate in practices and games following a sports-related injury. Additionally, this position completes documentation on the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of student-athletes, as well as communicating with school administrators, coaches, and parents regarding a student-athletes' participation status. Qualifications: Must hold a current "License to Practice As An Athletic Trainer" (Commonwealth of Virginia or another state) and/or hold an Athletic Trainer certification through the BOC. Applicants will be required to attend an orientation session that includes a background screening (fingerprints and central registry) Pay Rate: $29.61 per hour Assignment: Substitute/On-Call
