Support Engineering Drafter

Must Have: One or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis or drafting using computer-aided design software. A degree in computer-aided design or relevant field may be substituted perguidelines for certain years of experience. Driver's license for traveling to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) JOB DESCRIPTION This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more experienced colleagues, team lead, supervisor, and/or manager. This position focuses on engineering support and some drafting duties. These duties are a combination of the following: • Provides support to the engineering teams by organizing materials and creating new folder structures for projects. • Manages the SharePoint site and coordinates material deliveries for engineering partners. • Organizes materials received, reviews, uploads and properly archives these materials in our EDMS following existing protocols and procedures to avoid overwriting current work. • Organizes materials to be delivered to other groups withinand external partners/customers. • Helps issue "For Construction" documents and drawings. • Updates drawings based on field edits. • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, construction drawings and other technical information. • Assists in drafting drawings using established procedures, formats, and templates. • Assists with office research related to field measurements, historical engineering drawings, equipment databases, microfilm, inventory, electronic document management system (EDMS) records and other technical records to design equipment and layouts. • Performs data entry in the departmental engineering database. • Operates equipment, such as plotters, printers, copiers and scanners.
