Pipefitter Top Helper - Construction

Responsibilities: Aid pipefitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and blueprints. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using hand and power tools, preparing materials for installation. Assist with the installation of pipe systems, supports, fixtures, and equipment for various piping systems such as water, gas, and steam. Inspect and test installed systems to identify leaks and other issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring they are cleaned, stored properly, and available for use when needed. Help maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project. Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project, providing practical solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards. Assist in training and mentoring less experienced helpers, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices within the pipefitting trade. Education Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a pipefitter helper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques and practices. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of relevant vocational training or an apprenticeship program is preferred. Job Requirements/Special Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools related to pipefitting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
