About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Supervisor to join a dynamic manufacturing organization. This role offers the opportunity to combine engineering expertise with leadership, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability while guiding a team of Quality Technicians. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in engineering principles applied within a manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to lead and mentor others. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires presence on the production floor, active problem-solving, and collaboration across departments. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Quality Technicians, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to engineering and quality standards. Engineering Problem-Solving: Investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D), and design corrective and preventive actions grounded in engineering principles. Floor Engagement: Serve as a hands-on leader on the production floor-inspecting products, troubleshooting quality concerns in real time, and ensuring processes are executed correctly. Performance Monitoring: Track and report key metrics such as scrap reduction, First-Time-Right rates, and nonconformance response times; implement process improvements to meet targets. Auditing & Compliance: Conduct in-process and final product audits; maintain quality documentation and ensure compliance with ISO standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, 5S, and process capability initiatives; apply engineering analysis to optimize systems and reduce variation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, and that assembly processes meet technical requirements. New Product Development (NPD) Support: Participate in design reviews, validate assembly processes, conduct FMEAs, and confirm readiness for production launch. Ideal Candidate Profile Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering required. 5+ years of engineering experience in a quality or manufacturing role within a final assembly or high-volume production environment. Leadership: Proven supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ability to develop and engage technical staff. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in QMS, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and corrective action tools. Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of material flow, assembly operations, and production processes. Soft Skills: Hands-on, proactive problem solver; strong communicator; comfortable engaging directly with production and engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications: ASQ certifications (Green Belt, Black Belt, CQE) or ISO Auditor certification. Experience with compressors, engines, or related equipment is a plus but not required.
