The role is vital in supporting surgical procedures, patient rounds, and assisting in the operating room, all within a fast-paced healthcare setting. Required Skills: Valid Physician Assistant license Active California PA license and CA DEA registration Proficiency in Radical & endoscope vein harvesting, interpreting EKGs, X-rays, labs, ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices Experience in OR assisting and ICU/step-down patient management Ability to work 3-4 days per week with availability for flexible scheduling Demonstrated competence in clinical, surgical assistance, and patient care Nice to Have Skills: 3-5 years of relevant cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgical experience Prior experience working in hospital inpatient and operating room settings Familiarity with hospital protocols and interdisciplinary collaboration Preferred Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Minimum of 3 years of cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgical experience preferred Other Requirements: Must be licensed to practice in California Willingness to participate in call rotation (1:2), including weekday evenings starting at 3 pm through 7 am, and weekends from 3 pm Friday to 7 am Monday Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per day; overtime applies after 8 hours Availability to cover both outpatient clinic and hospital-based responsibilities Ability to travel and manage on-call duties as required The position offers competitive pay at $1.00 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, medical coverage, referral bonuses, paid sick time, licensure and certification reimbursements, and support from a dedicated team committed to your success throughout your assignment.
