Job Description

Piazza Produce offers a wide array of produce, locally sourced goods, specialty items, and more. Piazza Produce delivers to over 150 surrounding cities including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, and Michigan. This allows us a large distribution network in which we are able to back haul and deliver products from producers who need help distributing their products.Essential Functions: Efficiently and accurately stage trailers for loading and transport while ensuring proper temperature control to the refrigerated unitsManeuver and back trailers into loading docks, pre-trip fleet equipment including trailers, straight trucks, tractors, spotter trucksManeuver trailers/trucks into yard parking stalls to ensure there is no traffic back upManeuver pallet jacksFollow all safety protocols including, performing safety checks to secure fleetFuels trucks/trailer with diesel and DEF fluid as neededLoad and unload trucksCheck proper refrigeration set points on equipmentPerforming safety checks of yard and equipment fleetCollaborates with warehouse personnel using safety traffic control lighting system to move equipment from one location to another, according to door assignmentsWork with Transportation Management team to ensure proper equipment is used for routesWork closely with maintenance shop to ensure repairs are finished before using the equipmentReport any mechanical issues promptly for repair or maintenancePick-up loads and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner as neededAccurately, safely, and efficiently deliver merchandise using hand-trucks, ramps and/or lift gates to customers. May include delivering products up and downstairs and in all types of weather as needed.Maintain regular and satisfactory full-time attendancePerform work outside of normal business hours as needed and requiredPerform special projects as assigned by the Transportation Director or VP – Piazza Produce LLC Requirements: Class A CDL preferred but not required; candidates with a For-Hire Endorsement are encouraged to applyAt least 21 years of ageAt least 1 year of truck and trailer backing experienceNo more than 2 preventable accidents in the past 3 yearsNo more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and proven safe PSP scoreProper understanding and operation of refrigeration equipmentAbility to follow directions and willing to learnAble to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed Work Schedule: 5-Day work week with Sunday – Friday (Saturdays and Wednesdays in the week off)2nd Shift (Start Time: 5:00pm – 6:00pm – Finish)40-45 hours per week Compensation: Sign-on bonus of $3,000 NET.
