Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh Job Posting Candidate will provide services to a diverse population. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Site Management team with customer service, as well as administrative operations at HACP's public housing portfolio. In addition to administrative responsibilities, including resolving resident complaints, processing work order requests, and assisting with the leasing and recertification process; the incumbent will also attend community meetings, service provider interviews, resident appointments, and serve as a liaison between HACP staff and non-English speaking residents. All activities must support the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh ("HACP" or "Authority") mission, strategic goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed. Develops a thorough knowledge and understanding of HACP housing policies, procedures and site-based administrative processes. Maintains resident communications and relationships, serves as a liaison between HACP staff and non-English speaking residents during community meetings, resident appointments, legal proceedings, and when questions or concerns are directed to the management team. Provides exceptional customer service by: resolving resident concerns, ensuring work order requests are reported appropriately, and updating management and Facility Services of exigent items. Assists Family Self-Sufficiency and ROSS Coordinator in completing program functions, such as recruitment for the FSS/ROSS Programs, developing action plans and conducting needs assessments. Translation of written communications from English to Swahili, Kizigua, Somali, and MaiMai. Reviews leasing and recertification documents, ensuring that all information is completed according to policy and procedure, and provides general assistance to the Senior Site Manager in completion of the leasing and recertification process. Supports the Senior Site Manager/administrative team with completion of housekeeping inspection protocol. Communicates with agencies on behalf of residents who seek rental assistance, verifies benefits with various agencies including the Department of Public Welfare and Social Security. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED Equivalent supplemented by two (2) years' experience in an administrative role. Public housing or real estate experience is preferred. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and be insurable under the Authority's plan. Technical Skills Ability to read, speak, and write: English, Swahili, Kizigua, Somali, and MaiMai. Understands and is sensitive to the needs and interests of the African community in the City of Pittsburgh Excellent interpersonal skills maturity of judgment, organizational skills, effective communication and time management skills, and the ability to work with others to create successful outcomes. Established computer skills (MS Office Suite and Google software) and the ability to learn other computer software programs as required when completing assigned tasks. Position works in office environment and on Authority properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions. The noise level may be loud and the environment may be more hazardous than a standard office environment. This position may be required to work with contractors and vendors as well as Authority residents. The atmosphere is demanding and requires management of time sensitive issues and requests. Incumbent may encounter difficult situations involving tenants. Employee must have 24 hour reliable internet service. Must have reliable transportation to and from work and to get to and from multiple HACP locations based on business needs and assignments.
