Who You Are We are seeking motivated auditors to evaluate the financial records, cost structures, and business systems of defense contractors. This role ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and contract requirements while providing recommendations that enhance internal controls and cost integrity. The Sub-Contract Auditor Level 2 focuses on evaluating indirect rates, labor rates, escalation factors, and pricing assumptions used in contractor cost proposals and forward pricing submissions. You will contribute to fair and reasonable government pricing decisions through detailed financial analysis and audit support. In this dual-role position, you will also support Price Cost Analyst responsibilities, including cost and pricing analyses, supplier evaluations, and contract support. You will gain hands-on experience in audit execution and pricing strategy while developing technical skills under the guidance of senior auditors and analysts. What You Will Be Doing Audit Execution • Support risk-based financial and contract audits • Evaluate cost proposals, forward pricing submissions, and indirect rates under guidance • Review supplier accounting systems and internal controls • Audit supplier financial documents and records, including trial balances and general ledger • Validate cost data against financial records and source documentation Financial Analysis & Reporting • Analyze financial datasets • Verify the accuracy of supplier financial statements and cost data • Perform reconciliations and root cause analysis • Prepare audit reports and supporting documentation under supervision • Present results to contracting and acquisition stakeholders as needed Contract Compliance & Advisory Support • Ensure compliance with federal cost principles and regulations • Support contract negotiations with cost analysis and recommendations • Assist in developing government pricing objectives • Support audit planning and risk assessments Price Cost Analyst Key Responsibilities • Conduct cost and price analyses of supplier proposals under supervision • Review and validate supplier cost models and assumptions • Support supplier negotiations and customer interactions • Prepare reports, charts, and briefings to communicate findings • Provide guidance on cost drivers and pricing opportunities Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing • Maintain knowledge of audit standards and government regulations • Support training and mentoring of junior auditors • Contribute to audit process and technology improvements Fort Worth, TX This position is in Fort Worth, TX Discover Fort Worth. AeroSCM Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including auditing coursework. The degree must include at least 120 semester hours in accounting-related subjects such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing. • Candidates must have 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in audit, finance, cost accounting, proposal pricing, or rate analysis. • Experience should demonstrate the ability to independently manage complex financial tasks, support audit engagements, and contribute to cost or pricing analyses. • Must be able to travel to supplier sites on short notice, typically 40-50%, including domestic and occasional overseas assignments. Ability to work extended hours during peak audit periods (on weekends as needed). • Strong organizational, research, and time management skills with attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Desired skills • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred) • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar certification (preferred) • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred) • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and data analytics methods • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with an investigative mindset • Professional skepticism, sound judgment, and high ethical standards • Effective collaboration and ability to operate in fast-paced, team-oriented environments • Adaptability, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development • Effective written and verbal communication with the ability to present findings to stakeholders Government Contracting & Cost Compliance • Cost allowability and allocability principles • Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) fundamentals • Federal acquisition and defense acquisition regulations • Indirect rate and cost structure analysis support Proposal & Forward Pricing Knowledge • Indirect rate pools and allocation bases • Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs) support • Labor rate development and escalation modeling • Business base forecasting and productivity assumptions Accounting & Audit Capabilities • Cost accounting systems and ERP environments • General ledger to proposal traceability • Financial and trend analysis • Audit documentation and workpaper preparation • Risk-based and substantive testing methodologies, systems & tools • Intermediate Excel and dataset analysis • ERP or cost systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle) • Audit or analytics tools (e.g., CaseWare, ACL, IDEA, Power BI, Tableau) • Regulatory & Standards Knowledge • GAAP and applicable accounting standards • Government auditing standards (GAGAS) • Internal control frameworks and regulatory compliance EEOLockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth, TX. National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $63,800 - $112,470. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
