The Principal Electrical Engineer will drive the detailed electrical design of a user-facing fluid handling and temperature control system, ensuring the system meets the needs of critical stakeholders, integrates seamlessly into the operating room environment, and complies with all applicable standards. As a key member of the product development team, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, operations, clinical, regulatory, and research teams throughout the product lifecycle. Job Duties Lead product design, process development, and ongoing support of an electromechanical fluid management system across all stages of the product lifecycle, establishing and demonstrating best practices in product development. Lead the design and implementation of a next-generation refrigeration and cooling system. Select components and design power, control, thermal management, and analog instrumentation circuitry. Partner with suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of components, assemblies, and test fixtures. Perform and document system- and subsystem-level characterization and design verification testing. Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to establish production infrastructure and processes for prototype and production capital equipment. Lead or serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in root cause investigations spanning electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, systems, user-related, and manufacturing issues. Required Experience BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 15+ years of product development experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of product development experience Extensive experience leading analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout for complex medical device systems Strong expertise in embedded software, particularly C++ In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience applying international medical device standards (e.g., IEC 60601) Proven experience developing complete medical device products from concept through commercial launch Preferred Experience Experience designing refrigeration or cooling systems Experience designing fluid handling systems Experience designing complex medical capital equipment, such as PFA or HIFU generators Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: The pay transparency policy is available here: For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AllSTEM Connections is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
