Material Handler I ITW Residential Mechanical Fastening offers a broad range of professional grade tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include structural wood fasteners (GRK Fasteners), concrete anchoring systems (Tapcon, Red Head, Ramset), underlayment screws (Backer-On Rock-On ), self-drilling screws (Teks) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z Ancor). ITW Residential Mechanical Fastening excels in meeting the growing demands from Pro end-users for high-quality home improvement and construction fastening products. As a Material Handler I, you will work in a team setting to reach productivity goals. You will perform basic material handling duties including shipping, packing, loading and unloading trailers. Performing the following duties to meet quality and productivity standards. This is a 2nd shift position (2:15 pm 10:45 pm). Primary Responsibilities Load and unload local trucks, prepare packing slips, and coordinate shipments to local suppliers for secondary operations. Move and close out production orders from manufacturing lines in the system. Review all paperwork for accuracy and enter information into the system when no discrepancies exist. Generate transfer orders and complete inter-plant shipments. Transport materials and finished products between the dock/scale area and production operators. Move materials and products throughout the plant as needed to support production flow. Store incoming product in the appropriate locations after inspection approval. Manage daily UPS shipments. Perform daily forklift inspections to ensure proper and safe operating condition. Schedule and complete weekly cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. Weigh and record daily production scrap using designated software. Report discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis using the 5-Why method. Implement preventive and corrective actions to resolve inventory inaccuracies. Maintain housekeeping standards in common and dock areas to support a clean and safe work environment. Job Requirements High School Diploma / GED 3-5 related years' experience Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution. Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions. Successfully complete supplemental training (i.e. blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools) Ability to pass level proficiency test within 12 months Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. The employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions. Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures. Must be able to handle various company products such as steel products, tools, and construction chemicals while following proper safety guidelines established by the company. Ability to hear safety noises in the facility as well. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. In addition, our benefits include paid vacation, sick, holiday, and parental leave. Hourly base salary for this position is $22.00 plus applicable shift differential of $2.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
