Yard Foreman

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Yard Foreman to join our team. As a Yard Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our yard, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains warehouse and yard in a clean, orderly, organized, and safe condition. May supervise and coordinate the activities of yard workers Ensure that all equipment and machinery are in good working condition Maintain accurate inventory records of all materials and supplies Maintain and repair equipment as needed Train new employees on proper yard procedures and safety protocols Coordinates pulling and loading of materials based on schedules provided. Coordinates and ensures prompt unloading of all incoming trucks and assures deliveries are processed correctly then properly identified and stacked in the appropriate area. Assures the proper, accurate, and safe loading of shipments and any required documentation, including photographs, is completed as required. Assures a quality control check is done on incoming materials before it is unloaded from the truck. Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations Operates company vehicles to and from job sites and suppliers to load and unload materials and parts. Manage budget and expenses for the yard Performs all other duties as assigned. Job RequirementsEducation Required: High School Diploma or GED Work Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role Skills & Knowledge Required: Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexible and able to adapt to changing workloads. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, including local, state, federal regulations, Working knowledge of FRA procedures and regulations. Ability to operate and maintain yard equipment and machinery Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
