Accompanist

Description St James the Greater Catholic Church in Hopewell, Virginia is seeking a skilled and dedicated Accompanist to support our parish's English music ministry. The accompanist will provide instrumental accompaniment - typically on piano or organ - for weekend liturgies, rehearsals, and parish celebrations. Working in collaboration with the Choir Director and under the direction of the Pastor/Administrator, the accompanist helps foster reverent, joyful, and participatory worship in keeping with the liturgical traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. RequirementsQualifications: Proficiency in piano and/or organ accompaniment Experience accompanying choirs and congregational singing Familiarity with Catholic liturgical music and worship Ability to read music and adapt to choir and liturgical needs Willingness to collaborate and serve within a parish community. • Hours and Compensation: This is a part-time position averaging approximately 6 hours per week. Hours will vary based on rehearsals, Mass schedules, and special liturgical celebrations. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and diocesan guidelines.
