Principal HR Data AnalystReq. # 25455Job Family HR - Human ResourcesLocationUS-MA-Milford | US-DE-New CastlePay Range Minimum USD $108,000.00Pay Range Maximum USD $180,000.00OverviewThe Principal HR Data Analyst is responsible for delivering trusted, well-governed people data and advanced analytics to support strategic workforce decisions. This role serves as a steward of HR data, ensuring data integrity, consistency, security, and appropriate data sharing across the organization. The position partners closely with HR leadership, IT, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to establish strong data governance practices and enable responsible, data-driven decision-making.Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited toHR Analytics & Insights Analysis and interpretation of HR data related to workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention, compensation, performance, engagement, and DEI initiatives Facilitation of dashboards, reports, and KPIs that provide actionable insights for HR and business leaders Trend analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support strategic planning Data Governance & Data Quality Serve as a subject matter expert and steward for HR data governance practices Define, document, and maintain HR data definitions, business rules, and data standards to ensure consistency across systems and reports Establish and monitor data quality controls, validation checks, and audit processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of HR data Partner with HRIS, IT, and data teams to support master data management, system integrations, and data architecture decisions Support compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, internal controls, audits) Help facilitate ongoing data governance conversations with HR as well as cross-functional business partners Data Sharing & Enablement Develop and enforce guidelines for responsible HR data access and sharing in accordance with data privacy and governance Balance transparency and accessibility with confidentiality, privacy, and ethical data use Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and enable self-service analytics through governed datasets and dashboards Ensure sensitive employee data is shared only with authorized users and appropriate controls Support enterprise analytics initiatives by integrating HR data into broader organizational data platforms The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Human Resources, Business, Economics, or a related field 5-8+ years of experience in HR analytics, people analytics, or a related data-focused role Strong experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors) Demonstrated experience supporting data governance, data quality, or data management practices Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills High level of discretion and commitment to data confidentiality Experience with enterprise data governance frameworks or data catalogs Knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and privacy regulations Experience working in large, complex, or regulated environments Company DescriptionWaters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in analytical instruments, separations technologies, and software, serving the life, materials, food, and environmental sciences for over 65 years.
