About the RoleAs an Apartment Maintenance Technician at Big Sky Apartments in Staunton, VA, you will be a key member of our team assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and ensuring our property is in top-notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, basic drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus common area and exterior maintenance and repairs, respond to after-hours emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairsMaintain common areas and exteriors to the highest standardsRespond to after-hours emergencies (on-call rotation required)Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and ensure timely completionMaintain accurate records for work orders, parts, inventory, and service follow-upFoster a positive, customer-focused environment for residents and team membersParticipate in ongoing training and mentorship through "The Park Academy"Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Caring attitude, pride in your work, and commitment to high performanceSelf-motivated, hard-working, and high-energyExperience in apartment maintenance or related field preferredHVAC certification preferredSkilled in using power tools and basic technology (computers/tablets)Good people skills, friendly and helpful attitudeAbility to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. frequentlyStrong record-keeping and organizational skillsValid driver's licenseRotating after-hours on-call availability and weekends Please Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
