Inspire Curiosity by judging at the Science Fair!

Join Kamin Science Center and help inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers by volunteering as a judge at the Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair! The Science Fair is held at Kamin Science Center on Tuesday, March 24 (high school) and Wednesday, March 25 (middle school), 2026. We are seeking STEM professionals, with STEM degrees or commensurate STEM experience, to judge projects. Judge training and a judging rubric will be provided for all judges. About PRSEF: PRSEF invites middle and high school students to take on the challenge of designing, implementing, and communicating an original experiment while competing for cash prizes and scholarships. PRSEF is open to all students in grades 6-12 from the 21 counties within Western Pennsylvania and Garrett County, Maryland. The Science Fair has been a Pittsburgh tradition since 1940. It is also the third oldest science fair in the United States under the affiliation of Society for Science, which runs the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) and the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge middle school competition. Judging Information Judge volunteer shifts are approximately 9am-2pm You can volunteer to judge on Tuesday or Wednesday or both days! Judges will receive appreciation with free parking at Kamin Science Center for the Science Fair and complimentary breakfast and lunch Judges will be required to submit the state-mandated background checks and clearances. Information and instructions will be provided after you register to judge.
