Such tasks may include: • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments • Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments • Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines • Ensure optimal functioning of processes and equipment • Perform new machine installations as required • Perform and document regular equipment maintenanceEducation: Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering or other science/technology field is desired. High school diploma with relevant experience may be considered.Experience: At least 5 years of experience and proven ability in safely performing electrical and mechanical repairs and/or installations of various types of equipment and machinery is required. Familiarity with vacuum pumps and high temperature furnaces and hot presses for ceramic processing is highly desired.Knowledge: Well-balanced technical background is desired. Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of equipment and machining processes is desired.Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to safely operate high temperature equipment. Some heavy lifting required.Special Requirements: US citizenship is required.
