Walnut Creek Psychiatry is deeply committed to the care of all ages 4 and up.We are looking for a full-time psychiatric nurse practitioner to join our team in Johnston, Iowa.Job Responsibilities:Treating individuals across the lifespan.Helps patients by evaluating medical conditions and biopsychosocial needs.Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescription of psychotropic medications.Evaluate and assess using motivational interviewing of patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.Develop treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders and establishing treatment goals and methodologies.Utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications; and supervising staff provision of services.Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.Assures quality and safe service for patients.Participates in learning opportunities.Qualifications / Skills:Efficient documentation skillsActive listeningMotivational interviewing skillsEmpathetic and compassionateDecision-making skillsCommunication skillsEducation, Experience, and Licensing:Must have a valid license for scope of practice.Current board certificationValid Iowa state licenseValid DEA certificateCompensation:$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUSCompetitive base salary + bonus20 days PTO + 6 days of holiday pay annually Paid Maternal Leave$2000 CME allowanceHealth/Dental/Vision insurance with employer contribution401K with 4% employer match Life InsuranceStudent Loan Repayment recblid adq8fbz8faj6549po3dgyf8s4r5gcp
