As a member of the trade compliance team (Corporate Counsel Dept.), the Import Specialist is responsible for supporting the trade compliance function within the trade compliance team focusing on imports. This includes the daily support for import shipments by support of broker requests, assigning HTS codes, daily file audit and review, and working with other company departments to facilitate the import activities of the company. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is adaptable, a great teammate, and has a strong attention to detail. Here are the key qualifications you'll need to be successful: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: We're looking for c candidates with 5-10 years of related experience. If you're just starting out and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply! Computer Skills: You must have a basic understanding of computer usage and be comfortable working with various systems and tools. Attention to Detail: The ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is crucial for this role. salary: $26 - $32 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: High School Responsibilities Specific Job Duties: Research and classify parts for the company's import shipments - determining accurate HTS numbers, verifying country of origin, quantity, valuation, and PGA (Participating Government Agency) information. Research and respond to Customs requests for information in a timely manner as prescribed by regulation. Research and classify new parts for imports according to the HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff System of the US) Assist in risk assessment reviews including quarterly internal assessments for imports. Assist with the annual preparation and distribution of C-TPAT supply chain security letters to suppliers and service providers Perform Customs portal update of C-TPAT program as required Work directly with other company departments to obtain information needed for the trade compliance function and to assist in educating them about trade compliance. Review ACE portal for updates and reports used to maintain compliance. Maintain and update the parts database with current HTS numbers. Ability to resolve discrepancies and address import challenges and issues. Work directly with third party providers (freight forwarders, Customs Brokers) that handle the Company's imports/ exports and provide support to facilitate the release of import/export shipments Other duties may be assigned by management in order to meet the company or business objective on an as needed basis.
