About the Opportunity IntePros is partnering with an innovative energy technology organization focused on advancing distributed energy resource solutions, including renewable energy and energy storage systems. We are seeking a Power Systems Simulation & Modeling Engineer to support the development, validation, and grid integration of next-generation DER technologies. This role will play a critical part in ensuring high-performance grid interconnection and compliance with evolving industry standards. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical depth, hands-on simulation experience, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex power systems challenges. Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and maintain high-fidelity power system models supporting advanced distributed energy resource technologies Perform steady-state and dynamic simulations to evaluate grid interconnection performance and system behavior Benchmark simulation models against hardware test results and optimize system performance to meet regulatory and grid requirements Collaborate within cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex product design and manufacturing challenges Contribute to feasibility studies, engineering analyses, qualification testing, and production launch activities Participate in failure analysis investigations and support engineering evaluations Organize and support development testing activities Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and procedures Engage with internal stakeholders and external customers to clarify technical requirements, schedules, and performance expectations Stay current with emerging modeling tools, grid standards, and industry best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Experience developing and running power system simulations (steady-state and dynamic) Familiarity with grid interconnection standards and DER system behavior Experience working within interdisciplinary engineering teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience supporting product development from concept through production Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Preferred Experience Experience with renewable energy systems or energy storage technologies Experience benchmarking simulation models against physical hardware testing Experience in qualification testing and product validation What Success Looks Like Accurate, validated simulation models supporting product development and grid integration Strong collaboration across engineering disciplines Clear, professional technical documentation On-time support of development milestones and testing activities This is an opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge energy technologies that are shaping the future of grid modernization and renewable integration.
