Salary : $65,253.00 - $77,926.00 Annually Location : 1900 Oak Industrial Dr NE Grand Rapids, MI Job Type: Permanent Job Number: 443-0226 Department: Water Opening Date: 02/23/2026 Closing Date: 3/5/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Nature of Work The purpose of this job is to perform skilled machinist work fabricating, modifying and repairing specialty equipment. Provides support to water field ops, sewer repair, and Water service worker staff. Maintains 1900 Oak industrial drive building (not cleaning) inside and out year round. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Designs, fabricates and repairs equipment using metal lathes, mills, forges, welders, drill presses, sanders and grinders Writes specifications for special equipment orders and maintains adequate inventory of equipment supplies and materials Performs preventative maintenance on both shop and field equipment.
