The IT Field Technician provides professional technical support to employees across the company through both Helpdesk and Field Support functions. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network issues, while also supporting jobsite IT operations and office environments. The position plays a critical role in identifying, improving, and implementing IT processes that enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and align with Rogers-O'Brien's strategic objectives. This is an on-site position requiring in-person support-remote work is not available due to the hands-on nature of the role. Responsibilities Field Support Deploy and support workstations, hardware, and network setups at jobsites and offices. Provide on-site support for technical issues that cannot be resolved remotely. Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues (VPN, remote tools, ISPs). Lead equipment setup, repairs, replacements, and IT demobilizations. Conduct field visits to assess equipment and system performance. Supervise IT interns during mobilizations and training. Coordinate with project teams and identify improvement areas with IT leadership. Manage third-party vendors like Internet Service Providers. Helpdesk & Systems Support Respond to hardware, software, and network issues via Helpdesk system. Collaborate with users to define IT needs and solutions. Support devices and platforms including Windows, iOS, Office, VPN, DNS, DHCP. Track and document requests, issues, and resolutions using Helpdesk tools. Recommend and implement solutions to reduce recurring issues. Communication & Documentation Maintain clear, professional communication with users and vendors. Document field and Helpdesk support activities and contribute to the knowledge base. Analyze trends to improve system reliability and user experience. Qualifications Bachelor's in Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of relevant IT support experience required. CompTIA A+ or Tech+ certification preferred. Work Environment & Physical Requirements On-site role with regular field visits (no remote work). Must meet company driving requirements to operate a company vehicle. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and adapt to changing work environments. Strong critical thinking, communication, and troubleshooting skills required.
