CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Technician IV. Type: Contract Job Title: Mechanical Technician IV Location: Newton, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: Associate's degree in a technical field required, High School diploma will be considered with significant hands-on mechanical experience Description The Mechanical Technician IV supports engineering project initiatives focused on manufacturing capacity additions, equipment installation, and line debugging. This role provides advanced mechanical expertise to ensure successful installation, startup, optimization, and transition of equipment to Operations. The position requires strong troubleshooting capability, project support experience, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams and vendors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience 3+ years of experience supporting new equipment installation in a manufacturing environment (startup experience preferred) Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems Technical Skills Strong mechanical fundamentals including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gear systems, and conveyors Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Experience aligning, testing, calibrating, and commissioning equipment Ability to analyze data and perform root cause analysis to resolve mechanical issues Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems; CMMS experience preferred Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices Project & Operational Responsibilities Lead and support mechanical installation and debugging activities for capacity additions Design and implement mechanical improvements to increase equipment capability and reliability Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendors to resolve technical issues Develop and maintain engineering and operational documentation Identify and manage spare parts and storeroom requirements Support training for operations personnel on equipment changes Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and equipment performance Certifications (Preferred) Mechatronics training highly desired Millwright, HVAC, Welding, or other mechanical/industrial certifications OSHA or other safety certifications Desired Skills Experience with commercial manufacturing equipment Project leadership or coordination experience Vendor and supplier management experience Basic CAD knowledge Detail-oriented with ability to work independently Soft Skills Strong leadership and team collaboration skills Effective verbal and written communication Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities Ability to manage resources and support aggressive project timelines Travel Requirements Travel between Newton and Hickory, NC project locations as needed Work Schedule 40 hours per week (overtime expected) Occasional off-hours work may be required to meet project timelines Additional Information No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third-party vendors) CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website by clicking the link below or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to CTG CTG, a Cegeka company, is at the forefront of digital transformation, providing IT and business solutions that accelerate project momentum and deliver desired value.
