We provide multiple delivery systems in design-build, bid-build, public/private-partnerships and design-build finance. The Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting activities related to fixed assets under US GAAP, IFRS, and internal accounting policies. This role ensures accurate asset recognition, classification, depreciation, and reporting. The position also includes supervision of the Fixed Asset Clerk, management of lease accounting under ASC 842 / IFRS 16, and active participation in the ERP migration project with a go-live planned for April 2027. This is an in-office position with a 40-hour work week. Key Duties and Responsibilities. The Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for monitoring the fixed assets accounting: Processing all fixed asset additions and disposals and transfers (Book, Tax, and IFRS) in collaboration with the Equipment department. Reviewing all invoices linked to fixed assets-including work-in-progress accounts-to ensure proper classification between capital expenditures and Repairs & Maintenance. Maintaining accurate documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements. Reconciling the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger. Calculating and recording monthly depreciation expense (Book, IFRS). Preparing monthly fixed asset roll-forward schedules, including projects in progress and information required for the tax software (FAS). Posting journal entries related to fixed assets, leases, and other adjustments as needed. Managing lease-related accounting in accordance with applicable standards ( US GAAP, IFRS), ensuring proper recording of ROU assets, lease liabilities, and updates tied to contract changes. Documenting all transactions and maintaining organized, audit-ready files. Ensuring fixed asset subledgers contain all information required for property tax reporting and assisting the Tax Department with tax provision calculations and sales tax accruals. Providing support during half-year and annual audits, including preparation of schedules and timely responses to information requests. Supervising, guiding, and reviewing the day-to-day work of the fixed asset clerk to ensure accuracy and consistency in fixed asset processing. Supporting ongoing system initiatives, including participating in activities related to the ERP migration project planned for April 2027 (data preparation, testing, process updates, etc.). Performing research and analytical tasks as needed and assisting with other related responsibilities. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly financial statements. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes.Excellent computer skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word; SAP and FAS/SAGE experience preferred Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including X- and VLOOKUP, IF functions, PIVOT tables, etc. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Ability to grasp theories and concepts by applying strong critical thinking skills Organized and detail oriented Ability to review complex data and provide an in-depth analysis Think independently and develop solutions to problems Ability to handle large volumes of work efficiently Ability to manage high-intensity periods, such as month-end close, year-end, and audit season. Exhibit strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Education and Experience. This is not an entry level position. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience Accounting degree preferred Physical Demands. Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and manufacturing facilities may be required. Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet.
