Job Description

Associate Buyer Reports to: Director of Procurement Works closely with: All members of Procurement, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, Pre-Construction Teams and vendors Key Responsibilities: Track and manage orders for materials, equipment, tools and consumables against Project Schedules Verify Lead Times and ensure timely delivery to job sites Manage Document Storage Platform Assist Buyers with issuing RFQ's, Receipt of Bids, Review Bids Assist Buyers with Analyzing and qualifying proposals from suppliers Assist Buyers with maintaining various Project Trackers Attend Project Meetings to provide input on order status Assure contracts include all Project related documentation Other Responsibilities: Demonstrate alignment with our unique corporate culture, as codified by our Core Principles Assist pre-construction team with the identification and evaluation of potential vendors, assuring they meet all owner requirements and expectations Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors Assist Buyers in Creating change/purchase orders for projects Assist Buyers with "hand over" process of all contracts to the projects team Travel is required on occasion. (ex: site visits, vendor visits, among other things) Key Knowledge/Skills: Strong writing skills (technical or other writing experience) Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with various members of the organization and supply chain Understanding of the construction project management process Basic knowledge of contract terminology Basic negotiating skills: Ability to influence others Problem Solving: Ability to think outside of the box to provide value added solutions. Ability to gather information and make recommendations Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Driven, self-motivated and organized.
