Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Procurement Specialist II Location: Gibsonton, FL Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour Contract to hire role Job Summary The Procurement Specialist II supports semi-complex purchasing activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage purchasing strategies, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with supplier coordination, and a working knowledge of procurement processes for both domestic and international purchases. Key Responsibilities Participate in semi-complex buying strategies to purchase materials and arrange timely deliveries Expedite orders as needed and serve as a liaison between vendors and internal users Obtain appropriate approvals for purchases exceeding established limits Resolve semi-complex issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, and invoices Review and analyze purchase requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international sourcing Assist in maintaining and updating purchasing systems and project plans Participate in negotiating prices, terms, and quality requirements with suppliers Prepare and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs) Assist in developing and evaluating new supply sources and monitor market conditions Solicit cost-reduction ideas from suppliers and initiate follow-up actions to implement savings Qualifications Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations preferred Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders Experience reviewing requisitions and managing purchase orders Familiarity with domestic and international purchasing processes a plus Proficiency with purchasing systems and standard business software Why Join Us Competitive hourly pay Stable daytime schedule Opportunity to contribute to cost-saving initiatives and supplier strategy Collaborative work environment with growth potential
