Pharmacy Technician-Oelwein Family Medicine Retail

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Pharmacy Technician accurately takes prescription orders to fill patient medication orders, conducts inventories, fill patient medication orders, conducts inventories, checks and prepares outdates, insures proper medication storage, files prescriptions after being dispensed, prepares and submits insurance claims, and carries out other assignments working under the supervision of the Pharmacist. EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a registered pharmacy technician with the State of Iowa and obtain certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) within 12 months of hire. Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High attention to detail is necessary. Strong math and computer skills, along with at least 3 months of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy. Ability to take direction, communicate and work effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Must be able to follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; interview counsel or advise people; and evaluate technical data. Salary Range$17.60- $24.64
