Salary: $28.54 - $34.27 Hourly Location : Recreation and Cultural Services - City of Colorado Springs, CO Job Type: Classified - Full Time Job Number: 17194 Division: Parks, Rec & Cultural Svc Department: Park Maintenance Mechanical Opening Date: 02/23/2026 Closing Date: 3/9/2026 4:00 PM Mountain FLSA: Non-Exempt Description / Position Overview Skilled Maintenance Technician II - Valley Hi Golf CourseAbout the Job: In this role, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and properly dispose of mechanical equipment ranging from handheld tools such as chainsaws, to ride on equipment such as tractors, utility vehicles, or aerators for Valley Hi Golf Course. Job Type: Full time As a Skilled Maintenance Technician II you will: Maintain communication with golf course superintendent and report problems or concerns as they arise. Repair and maintain hand held equipment including, but not limited to, string trimmers, blowers, and chain saws Perform electrical troubleshooting on various types of equipment including golf carts, litter lifts, scooters, and mowers of various sizes and capabilities. Perform electrical troubleshooting on various types of tractors, ATV's, and a wide range of ride on equipment. Develop and implement an annual maintenance plan for all turf maintenance equipment including ride on and walk behind equipment, golf cart fleet, and golf division vehicles. Maintain fleet equipment, including golf carts and golf division vehicles. Maintain and ensure quality of cut on all mowers, all the time. Repair or replace tires and/or wheels as necessary. Keep consistent records of fuel logs and other EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) or OSHA requirements Maintain accurate records of service and repair using Microsoft outlook, or Excel spreadsheets Diagnose and repair various types of equipment such as mowers, including two stroke and 4 stroke engines. Diagnosis and repair of diesel-powered equipment including tractors, UTV's, ATV's, and commercial turf mowers such as Toro, Jacobsen, and John Deere. Driveline system repair, and hydrostatic transmission troubleshooting. Respond to service calls and repair equipment in the field as necessary. Attend service schools as needed to keep up with industry standards. Other duties as assigned, although not limited to, ability to mow greens, tee's, roughs, and fairways. Change cups and rake bunkers. Ability to operate tractors and implements. Assist with any other maintenance needs required by the golf course superintendent, etc. Learn more about this job by reviewing the class specification on the We are looking for candidates who demonstrate Ability to: Work between the hours of 4:00am - 3:00pm (as needed) in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, extreme cold and warm temperatures. Stand, kneel, walk, bend, crawl and lift 50-70lbs. Work weekends as scheduled or when needed by the golf course superintendent. Troubleshoot 12V and 48V battery powered equipment. Perform hydraulic system repair and rebuild cylinders. Weld and fabricate parts as needed Minimum Qualifications We value a diverse range of qualifications and experiences.
