We are looking for candidates who are open to working 1 day per week, primarily on Friday from 2:30-11 PM. Previous experience in maintenance is highly preferred. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service and repair of equipment as assigned. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. May require a driving shuttle van when needed (property specific). Maintenance personnel are responsible for helping with the operation, maintenance, service and repair of assigned equipment. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventive maintenance program, handling guest requests and other assigned work orders. He/she is also responsible for doing the job safely and efficiently and doing business work, such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. It may require driving the hotel van when necessary (specific property). QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required. Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.). Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state (property specific). Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) (property specific). Course certificate of one year of college or technical school; or three to six months of subject-related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of study and experience. Preferably basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting and air conditioning and heating (HVAC) systems. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and meticulousness; monitors your own work to ensure quality and applies the feedback you receive to improve your performance. Ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to change and adaptation to new methods and procedures. Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment. Change out light bulbs; perform preventive maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc. Perform preventive maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool and hot tub. Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventive maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request. Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings. Access to back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues Access and control to sensitive areas in the hotel premises, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys and/or guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility Represent the company with a certain level of reputation and good character as well as exercise sound judgement Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager. Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment Change light bulbs; Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch-up painting, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repair, etc. Perform preventive maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, rooms, meeting rooms, the pool and hot tub. Perform plumbing repairs, repair laundry equipment, preventive maintenance on all extractors and supplies; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuums and any other small equipment upon request. Immediately attend any alarm to determine the exact location and cause: determine the state of emergency and inform the reception with the results. Perform another task as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
