Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk Location: West Columbus, OH Reports To: Accounting Manager / Controller Job Summary We are a rapidly expanding logistics and trucking company looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our West Columbus team. As we scale, we need a reliable professional to manage the full cycle of A/P, ensuring our carriers, vendors, and maintenance partners are paid accurately and on time. This is a vital role that keeps our fleet moving and our vendor relationships strong. Key Responsibilities Invoice Management: Review, code, and process high-volume vendor invoices, including fuel expenses, equipment repairs, and office utilities. Vendor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries; research and resolve discrepancies or statement variances. Driver & Carrier Support: Process driver expense reimbursements and ensure independent contractor settlements are handled per contract terms. Data Integrity: Maintain accurate records in our accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or TMW/McLeod) and ensure proper GL coding. Payment Cycles: Prepare weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and wire payments for approval. Compliance: Assist with 1099 processing at year-end and maintain organized digital and physical filing systems. Required Qualifications Experience: 13 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general bookkeeping. Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in Trucking, Logistics, or Construction is highly preferred (understanding of fuel taxes, IFTA, or repair orders is a plus). Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables/VLOOKUPs) and experience with mid-to-enterprise level accounting software. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with shop managers and external vendors. Location: Must be able to commute to our West Columbus office.
