ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Use interpersonal skills to effectively communicate QA/QC requirements and objectives Assure product meets and/or exceeds standards and specifications Performs in-process inspection and nondestructive tests Assist Inspection Manager/Leadperson and QA/QC personnel as needed Maintain documentation Work at a pace sufficient to obtain quality and quantity of inspection/testing, consistent with operational requirements Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Manager JOB SCOPE: This position provides specialty support to the facility by ensuring manufactured products conform to specified requirements to ensure the highest quality possible. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. As needed the employee should have sufficient education, training and experience to ensure qualification in inspection methods, which are being employed. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to locate and compute metric conversions. Ability to cross train in multiple departments. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and /or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
