Court Specialist IV We are hiring in Palm Beach Gardens! If you can offer exceptional customer service, then we want YOU to join our Clerk Family! Our North County office, located in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens, is seeking a detail oriented professional with a strong work ethic to join their Customer Service team in their Civil department as a Court Specialist IV! In this role, you will assist a wide range of customers coming into our office seeking assistance in relation to civil matters. Among other duties, you will be tasked with accepting payments and answering customer inquiries via phone and email. This position will help you build a strong foundation to grow a successful career in our Civil area! The North County Civil Department includes but is not limited to Unified Family Court, Mental Health, County Civil, Probate, Recording, Passports, Marriage Licenses, Marriage Ceremonies and Evidence Processing. This position is eligible for a one dollar per hour stipend which has already been added to the salary advertised. The one dollar per hour stipend will be awarded upon completion of the introductory period. The stipend will no longer apply should the employee transfer out of this position. Superior health care plans with lower costs to you Retirement choices through the Florida Retirement System and deferred compensation plan Award-Winning Wellness Program that gives employees incentives, tools, social support, and strategies to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle Tuition Reimbursement Qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness At the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller's Office you can: Work with a purpose Give back to the community Be part of a family Build your skills Pursue career advancement opportunities Reach your professional and personal goals Examples of Essential Functions: Assists Court Specialist Lead and management team with quality control overall departmental efficiency and procedural development as needed; Assists with the training of new front counter employees; Assist with Vital Statistics Report and other Marriage License related reports; Screens indigency applications; determines whether to grant deny or refer to the Court; Processes new cases including multiple case types and transfers from other courts/venues; assigns case types; indexes parties and associating attorneys; handles specialized processes/procedures; Processes marriage licenses; generates and issues licenses; performs marriage ceremonies for all customers; cashiers related fees; records licenses into the Official Records; Issues and processes writs and other documents; cashiers related fees; Transfers cases to other courts/venues; collects applicable fees; prepares and transmits record for transfer; issues receipts for transfer to be completed/returned by receiving court/venue; Processes Judicial reassignments/recusals; updates system; issues notice of reassignment; notifies newly assigned Judge and parties/counsel of the change; Issues certified copies; Assists customers in person and by phone. Typical Qualifications: High school diploma (or GED), supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred. Once qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.
