Class A CDL Driver Danville (Home Daily) First Piedmont Corporation, a regional waste removal and disposal employer, is hiring full time roll off drivers for our Danville service area. Day shift Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays. Requires Class A CDL. 1-year driving commercial vehicles preferred. Front load driving experience (preferred). Hazmat endorsement preferred. Equivalent of high school diploma or GED. 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL preferred. Experience operating a front load commercial vehicle preferred. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Must be able to operate a manual transmission. Must have a Real ID. Complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review. Ability to work independently and in a team. Must be able to climb in and out of commercial vehicle consistently throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 75 pounds occasionally throughout the workday using 3-point contact. Ability to sit for extended periods of up to 45 minutes at a time, stand, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces, bend, squat, and other physical requirements as necessary to complete the essential duties and responsibilities. Front load drivers safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks with a front-end load lift attachment. Drivers are responsible for providing the pick-up service of containers filled with waste, recyclable, and compost material. Front load drivers will navigate high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots and may operate in tight overhead environments while on route. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job. The ideal candidate will be hard-working and enthusiastic, with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass regular drug screenings.
