Admin Support (Non-Clinical) Central Intake Specialist - Hospice - 40 Hours - Day Eligible for Full Time Benefits Shift: Days 8:30 am to 5:00 pm We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the first point of contact for new hospice patients and their families. This role requires a compassionate communicator with strong organizational skills, capable of handling sensitive conversations while efficiently managing data and insurance verification. General Summary: Under general supervision of the Leader of Central Intake, is responsible for Intake of new referrals by phone, fax and/or computer. Enters referral demographics into computer, Coordinates insurance coverage with the Billing department and assists with coordination of care. Routinely interacts with physicians, nurses, case managers and the general public regarding the coordination of patients' transitions of care and ongoing care in the home. Education Required: Requires a high school diploma or GED. College level coursework in business preferred. Experience Required: Requires a minimum of two (2) years of intake, customer service or billing experience. Home Health Care intake or billing experience preferred. General knowledge of medical coding and medical terminology required. Advanced computer knowledge, keyboard experience and Microsoft Office experience required. Knowledge of Epic preferred. Ability to analyze and improve intake procedures required.
