Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist/Laborist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient care, managing patient assessments, and coordinating treatment plans in a hospital setting. Applicants must provide efficient, cost effective obstetrical care and gynecological care using evidence based medicine. Evaluates patients in triage on Labor & Delivery or Emergency Department admitting patients when needed. Managers and delivers Obstetrical patients.DutiesConduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.Assists with C-Sections.Rounds on hospitalized, antepartum and post-operative patients.Covers all Emergency Room call coverage for OB/GYN when on shift.Provides both Inpatient and Emergency department consultations.Manage inpatient care for a diverse patient population, including those with complex medical needs.Utilize EHR systems and EMR systems effectively for documentation and communication.Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment options and health management.Engage in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions of care post-hospitalization.QualificationsDoctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree required.Licensed in the state of California as an OB/GYN.DEA Certification required.Prior experience as an OB/GYN preferred. (at least 3 years experience)Ability to demonstrate excellent independent judgment, problem-solving, analytical and collaborative skills in order to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, providing patient centered leadership and direction.Must have the emotional intelligence that may include, but not limited to, patience, sensitivity and the compassion to work with patients that may be stressed, anxious, and difficult.Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.Strong clinical skills with experience in hospital medicine; critical care experience is highly desirable.Proficiency in using EHR systems.Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the medical field.
