Overview: Housing Hope and HopeWorks are leading non-profit organizations dedicated to developing affordable housing and providing essential human services in Snohomish County and Camano Island. Our mission is to reduce homelessness and poverty by offering affordable housing and tailored services. We achieve this through various interventions, including social enterprises, children's services, subsidized housing, employment, education, and training programs. Purpose: We are seeking an early childhood education professional to deliver high-quality training for the Job Training Program in partnership with Tomorrow's Hope Child Development Center. This role fosters positive, collaborative relationships and supports department and program staff. As part of the Employment, Education & Training (EE&T) Department, you will join an innovative team dedicated to helping individuals secure career pathway employment and increase their income. The Job Training Program is the cornerstone of HopeWorks Social Enterprises, providing essential skills education to trainees facing employment barriers. Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. The Early Childhood Education Trainer must be able to competently perform the following: Actively participate with the Training Team and Employment, Education & Training Team regarding training program development and coordination, including the continued growth, enhancement, and expansion of high-quality training materials and program for Tomorrow's Hope trainees. Tomorrow's Hope trainer will provide real time and reflective feedback to trainees as they participate in the classrooms with teachers and children. The trainer will partner with the teachers to provide an excellent learning experience. Identify and focus on skills necessary to ensure trainees are prepared to be successful in employment and/or further education. Facilitate learning through a variety of methods including classroom training, on-the-job coaching, inclusion of local experts and guest instructors, off-site experience, etc. Manage Tomorrow's Hope training program administration, including weekly reporting, meetings/coordination, and tracking training outcomes. Lead the delivery of transformative training experience; modeling best practices and guiding trainees through gaining typical employment requirements in the ECE field, such as registering for Merit and signing up for CPR training. Model developmentally appropriate practices. Apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and ensure incorporation of taught skills & techniques into trainee's work behavior. Utilize trauma informed care principles and an equity lens to create a productive and safe learning environment for a diverse population of trainees. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs. Items that are over 25 lbs. must be lifted, carried, pushed, pulled, or moved with proper equipment for assistance (dolly) and proper safety procedures must also be followed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in a general office/classroom environment as well as outdoor environment. Possible exposure to weather-heat, wet, cold, wind, and noise. Required Education & Experience Degree in Early Childhood Development/Education or equivalent and minimum 2 years' experience in teaching young children. Valid WA state drivers license in order to operate department vehicle for work related travel. Strong training, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in young children. Knowledge of licensing requirements from the WACs (Washington Administrative Codes) Ability to manage multiple demands, including frontline training as well as administrative tasks and documentation. Experience leading and working with diverse groups with varying skill/backgrounds in conflict resolution, problem solving, and decision making. Proficiency in working with Microsoft Suite. Experience in employment and/or training programs a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to meet all licensing requirements including up to date CPR/AED, proof of vaccination, cleared background check, and a negative TB test.
