About Zero Prime Zero Prime is an early-stage venture firm backing engineer-founders building core infrastructure for the AI era. We invest at day zero, partnering with builders creating the systems that power modern AI - across data infrastructure, AI engineering, developer tools and intelligent systems. We are also the firm behind AI Council, our global technical conference and community for engineers building production AI systems. Formerly Data Council, AI Council brings together practitioners across data, ML and AI engineering for deeply technical insights focused on real systems, real tradeoffs and real work. Through events, content and community, AI Council connects the builders shaping the AI stack today. About the Role We're seeking a highly-engaging Ecosystem Builder to help grow the Zero Prime community and brand. In this role, you'll execute our community growth strategy by building meaningful connections with some of the brightest technical minds in AI and data. You'll activate a cadence of events and programs, creating value exchange with our global network of AI-native founders, engineers, researchers and product leaders. We believe in building community IRL. This is an in-person role at our Jackson Square (SF) office with frequent event attendance around the Bay Area, which may include evenings and occasional weekends. Primary Responsibilities COMMUNITY BUILDING Nurture relationships with engineers and technical founders within the startup ecosystem, driving engagement and retention for Zero Prime and AI Council community initiatives. Manage key community segments with thoughtful, timely communication. Act as an external brand ambassador - regularly attending technical startup events and building visibility for Zero Prime through consistent presence. Help Zero Prime founders plug into our network by including them in relevant activities and making direct introductions by request. Maintain accurate community tracking, reporting and CRM hygiene for a clear visibility into engagement, attendance and outreach. EVENTS & PROGRAM EXECUTION Design and execute a calendar of tailored events and programs (multiple per month). Event types may include: networking socials, founder dinners, hackathons and technical meetups/workshops. Own end-to-end event operations: scheduling, marketing & outreach, communications, guest lists, venue/vendor management and day-of hosting. Establish an event operating rhythm that reflects quality and professionalism. Gather feedback and implement iterative improvements over time. BRAND & CONTENT SUPPORT Write high-quality external communications maintaining our brand voice and appreciation for our technical community. Content may include: email newsletters, personalized event invitations, event registration pages and social media posts. Provide our content team with photos, videos and event highlights immediately following events to drive online engagement. Qualifications 3-5 years professional experience in event marketing, communications, community management or adjacent. Already embedded into technical, AI-native communities Social media savvy on multiple platforms Fantastic interpersonal skills: people-oriented, charismatic, high-energy - familiar with working with engineers and deeply technical ICPs Strong oral and written communication skills: able to discern and adjust messaging for different roles, levels, geographies and personas Operationally reliable: can be trusted to maintain good CRM hygiene, internal trackers, juggle multiple community segments across Zero Prime and AI Council Has worked in early-stage startup environments Bonus: previous DevRel experience - awareness of developer communities, technical content/programming, partner ecosystems
