Title: Estimator II or Lead Department: Estimating / Sales Operations Reports To: Sr Estimator/ VP of Sales Location: Santa Ana, 92705 Pay: $80-120K (dependent on level) Our client makes precision‑engineered metal products and handles everything from design to fabrication, assembly, and final delivery, all under one roof. They partner with companies across many industries to simplify supply chains and help bring products to market faster. Role Summary Estimator II independently develops accurate and competitive cost estimates for fabricated parts and assemblies. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to support the companies growth in data center, power infrastructure, industrial, medical, and aerospace/defense markets. Key Responsibilities · Prepare end-to-end cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication, welding, finishing, electromechanical sub-assemblies, and system builds · Analyze RFQs, drawings, specifications, and BOMs to define scope and cost drivers · Develop labor routings and validate manufacturability with Engineering and Operations · Source and evaluation of material, hardware, and outside service pricing · Ensure pricing meets company margin targets and capacity constraints · Support customer clarifications, quotes, and annual price reviews · Maintain accurate documentation and assumptions in ERP Education/Qualifications · Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related technical discipline preferred · Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business a plus · Equivalent experience in contract manufacturing estimating may substitute for formal education · 3–6 years of estimating experience in contract manufacturing · Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and cost drivers · Ability to interpret complex drawings and GD&T · Experience supporting NPI and production programs · Proficient in Excel and ERP quoting systems, Global Shop preferred Success Indicators · Quote accuracy vs. actuals · On-time quote delivery · Win rate on targeted opportunities · Alignment with operational capacity
