The Position:Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Paving Superintendent is responsible for managing daily field paving activities, crew personnel and equipment scheduling, overseeing paving equipment repairs, and maintaining reinforcement of continuous safety and quality improvements. Responsibilities: Manage the daily paving operationsLead employees on proper safety proceduresPartner with the Operations Manager and HR Business Partner on employee relation matters as well as hiring of field crew personnelCoordinate equipment and pre-job planning to ensure appropriate equipment allocation on the job siteTroubleshoot and correct laydown problems, mat blemishes, screed adjustments, etc.Possess understanding of density requirements to coordinate with quality control and technical services on resolving issues regarding mix or density properties in the fieldPossess a strong understanding of Wisconsin, state DOT specifications for HMA, Safety and CMV operationAct as a consultant for area management and purchasing on paving equipment acquisitionsFoster relationships with external and internal customers by portraying leadership and professionalism, at all timesAssist in the training of foremen, project managers and field crew personnel The Benefits:Team members at the Walbec Group are offered competitive pay and benefits that align with our values while supporting good health and a balanced life now and into the future. The Candidate: High degree of ethical standards in personal and business conductSelf-directed and motivated; able to manage multiple conflicting and changing prioritiesMinimum of 10 years of experience at the field level, laying and finishing HMAPrior experience as a ForemanStrong knowledge of rolling operations to achieve density requirementsStrong knowledge of paving equipment applications and equipment operationsExcellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsValid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving recordWorking knowledge of CMV guidelines and regulationsTrustworthy and discrete with confidential informationAdherence to anti-trust laws and regulations Why Should You Apply?
