About the Role As an In-Vehicle Network Performance Specialist, you will play a critical role in defining the vision, standards, and operational practices for network performance modeling across advanced vehicle networks like Ethernet, CAN-FD, and LIN. This position is vital for enhancing our vehicle communications and ensuring top-notch performance throughout the development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership: Own and innovate the roadmap for network performance modeling, simulation, and real-time monitoring within vehicle programs. High-Fidelity Modeling: Develop sophisticated models to analyze and predict network behaviors such as latency and utilization, ensuring they mirror real-world complexities. Data-Driven Insights: Conduct in-depth studies to recommend architectural enhancements based on quantitative analysis, optimizing network design and performance. Lifecyle Forecasting: Project network load and resource utilization throughout the vehicle's lifecycle to anticipate future needs and challenges. Performance Monitoring: Establish a robust system for tracking performance metrics during integration, allowing for quick identification and resolution of potential issues. System Integration: Embed performance considerations into our systems engineering workflows to ensure quality and reliability throughout the development process. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Over 7 years of experience in complex systems engineering, with a strong background in network performance analysis. Hands-on experience with vehicle communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN/CAN-FD, and LIN. Proficiency in software engineering tools (e.g., Python, C++) for automation and analysis purposes. Exceptional leadership capabilities, able to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Knowledge of time-sensitive networking and real-time systems analysis. Familiarity with AUTOSAR standards and automotive network tools. Why Join Ford?
