Data Science is vital to Coinbase's product development and decision-making processes. We work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to shape our roadmap and deepen our understanding of our users. Our expertise in experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling produces insights that directly impact the company's success. As a Senior Data Scientist on our Retail Trading Team, you will lead pricing experiments and play an instrumental role in shaping our pricing strategy. You will design and analyze tests, identify areas to boost engagement and profitability, and effectively communicate your insights and strategies to executive leadership. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the pricing vision, roadmap, and priorities. Design and develop pricing models and evaluation frameworks to determine optimal pricing strategies. Create causal models to analyze the impact of fee changes and leverage experiments and observational data. Initiate and maintain data pipelines and models with exceptional craftsmanship. Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to senior leadership. What we're looking for: Demonstrated core cultural values such as clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution. Preferred PhD or a Master's degree in Economics or Statistics with 5+ years of relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years in pricing experimentation, data analysis, and statistical modeling. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and statistical modeling. Proven ability to develop plans for analytics projects and manage large, complex analytical projects across multiple teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex data and analyses to non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with the ability to perform under tight deadlines. Preferred qualifications: Experience in applying causal inference techniques beyond controlled experiments. Background in the Crypto sector or experience working at a crypto exchange is a plus.
