Title : Appium Developer Pay Rate: $25/hr + DOE Location: Hillsboro, OR Type: Assignment 6-months About Novus Labs Novus Labs is our sibling company that provides engineering support to the largest tech companies in bringing some of the most innovative products to market. We're helping them find a Validation and Tools Engineer for their client who is a forward thinking electrical automotive company that combines innovation, design and technologies to deliver cutting edge products. About the role What you'll be doing Develop and maintain an Appium + pytest automation framework targeting hardware and simulated devices. Design reusable, maintainable page object models (POM) for UI components Integrate test suite with CI/CD pipelines for continuous regression coverage Work closely with stakeholders to understand display logic, state machines, and UI event flows Establish test data management, fixture design, and environment configuration patterns Debug flaky tests and hardware interface issues; build retry logic and stability tooling Design and build a scalable device farm infrastructure to support parallel execution across multiple hardware units Establish monitoring, alerting, and device health dashboards for the farm Document architecture and onboard other QA engineers to the platform About You Required Qualifications: 3+ years experience with Appium or similar UI automation tools Proficiency in Python and pytest, including fixture design, parametrization. Experience structuring automation frameworks with Page Object Model (POM) or equivalent design patterns Strong understanding of Appium server configuration, desired capabilities, and session management Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) Ability to debug automation failures at the framework, driver, and application layer Experience writing clear test plans, defect reports, and technical documentation Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US.
