Campbell Fittings is pleased to announce we are currently recruiting for a Material Handler to join our Boyertown PA team. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior order picking and/or packing experience directly in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. Duties/Responsibilities: A Material Handler reports to our Production Supervisor to ultimately oversee stock levels, ensure inventory is organized within the warehouse, and replenishing stock when needed Must be forklift certified or willing to receive forklift certification as day-to-day duties will involve materials needing to be moved in bulk.Please note that we provide forklift certification training if neededMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions Verbally communicates to Inventory Specialist any inventory accuracy issues and notifies supervisor any quality issues detected. Manage and organize the warehouse space to maximize efficiency and safety. Verbally communicates to maintenance technician any machinery and equipment functional problems and notifies supervisor any quality issues detected. Depending on business needs, must provide support to Packaging Department as needed which may include Packaging Operator responsibilities including but not limited to: Picks parts following the instructions on the pick ticket, locates part in the warehouse for picking, inspects the parts to be packed to check for, quality, quantity and the correct part was picked according to specifications on pick ticket, to assure that the packing job will be completed to meet customer and delivery standards. Preparations for packing of parts and products by physically moving the parts to the packing area Selecting and setting up all the necessary tools and equipment including staple guns and tape dispensers to complete the assigned work order. Packing the parts or products by using a combination of methods including, packing with boxes and packets, securing product with tape and shrink wrap to prevent shifting or damage in transit aided with the use of hand tools. Examining own work including inspecting the packed parts by counting for correct quantity, visual inspections to detect packing defects, aided with the use of hand tools, scales and measuring devices to meet work order or drawing specifications Inspects the packed product following the pick ticket, obtains help from coworkers, when necessary, follows procedure to assure compliance with packing and shipping standards. Maintains and updates appropriate documentation including but not limited to production, scrap, downtime reports, production board, quality and safety logs Implements and maintains 5'S practices in his/her work area including in equipment according to company procedures. Job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late including weekends from time to time. Follow all established safety rules and procedures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes: Mandatory: Covered toe shoes Optional: Safety glasses, steel-toe shoes (toe protection shoes), gloves, hearing protection Report defective materials and unusual or unsafe conditions to Production Supervisor or Operations Manager Performs other related or additional duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills including active listening Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently and able to ask for help when needed Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software Ability to interpret shipping documents, and understand instructions and work directions. Must be comfortable and efficient in working in a busy open-floor environment Must be comfortable working in a team environment as well as individually Must be able to multitask and possess decision making skills for prioritizing workload Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of picking and/or packaging experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment highly preferred Forklift experience certification is a must or willing to receive forklift certificationPlease note that we provide forklift certification training if neededneeded as moving materials in bulk within warehouse are part of day-to-day duties Experience using scan guns and their use in shipping, inventory put-away and picking, and cycle counting a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing entire shift Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds at times. Must be able to bend and twist throughout the entire shift. Material Handler must require help from coworkers when handling heavy pallets and skids weighing up to 1500 lbs.
