OverviewSelect Specialty Hospital - BirminghamCritical Illness Recovery HospitalHuman Resources Coordinator ( HRC )Full Time | On-Site | M-F 8am - 5pm$60K-$70K (based on experience)$5,000 Sign-On BonusWe are seeking a talented and curious HR professional who values partnership, accountability, and meaningful impact. This is a hands-on, hospital-based HR Coordinator role for someone who wants to be close to the work- supporting caregivers, leaders, and operations; while partnering closely with our HR Shared Services team.If you are passionate about people, energized by variety, and eager to grow your HR skillset while influencing hospital operations and HR strategy, this role offers a unique opportunity to learn, contribute, and make a difference and grow every day.ResponsibilitiesAs the on-site HR Coordinator, you serve as the primary HR presence in the hospital, coordinating the full scope of HR operations in close collaboration with centralized HR partners. You are both a trusted resource for employees and leaders and a key connector between the hospital and enterprise HR functions.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, balancing operational execution with relationship-building, and learning how HR strategy comes to life in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Key Responsibilities Own and coordinate day-to-day HR operations at the hospital level, ensuring high-quality execution across the employee lifecycle Partner closely with HR Shared Services to deliver seamless support in payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, employee data, and HR administration Serve as a trusted advisor and service-oriented resource for employees and leaders Coordinate and support accurate payroll processing, timekeeping, and data integrity Drive and support talent acquisition efforts, including hiring coordination, onboarding, and workforce planning support Maintain compliance with employment laws, licensing requirements, and regulatory standards Act as the local subject matter expert for benefits, policies, and HR processes Support employee relations needs with professionalism, discretion, and consistency Play an active role in building and sustaining a positive, high-performing workplace culture Contribute insights that help shape HR strategy and operational effectiveness at the hospital level Why This Role Matters You will see the direct impact of your work on employees, leaders, and patient care You will gain broad, real-world HR experience across multiple functional areas You will develop strong partnerships with operations leaders and enterprise HR teams You will be part of a mission-driven organization committed to supporting caregivers and improving lives QualificationsSuccessful employees are inventive problem solvers who thrive in a dynamic environment.Minimum requirements: Bachelors Degree in HR, Business or related field required. (Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of the degree with the approval of Corporate HR) 2 years Human Resources experience required. Preferred qualifications that will make you successful: Previous HR experience in a healthcare facility with exposure to Joint Commission and CMS preferred. Familiarity with benefit administration, basic HR and Employee Relations functions, payroll administration, and state and federal employment laws.
