Summary This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent independently provides highly complex human resources (HR) management advisory and technical services on the most important and substantive organizational functions and work practices to the Department of Defense (DOD) and Components' management and subject-matter experts. Duties Help As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Policy Development and Guidance: Develops Department of Defense (DoD) policies and program guidance on specific or emerging human resources issues, ensuring alignment with DoD strategic directives and requirements. Advisory Role and Expert Consultation: Serves as a senior advisor to DoD HR experts, senior executives, and staff, offering technical expertise on complex HR issues, interpreting laws and regulations, and recommending tailored solutions for various situations across DoD Components. Legislative Analysis and Recommendations: Evaluates new or modified legislation and regulations, providing recommendations for changes to improve DoD HR programs. Develops proposals for legislative changes that could impact HR practices across the DoD. Special Projects and Presentations: Leads or participates in special DoD-level HR projects, studies, and initiatives, preparing and delivering oral and written presentations to senior officials and other stakeholders. Training and Knowledge Transfer: Develops and delivers training on complex or emerging HR laws, regulations, and issues, ensuring that senior leaders and HR professionals across the DoD are well-informed and equipped to handle evolving challenges in human resources management. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Applying Federal position, classification principles, concepts and practices. Conducting/participating in special Agency level HR related projects and studies. Preparing and delivering training/presentations on HR related programs. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
