Insurance & Safety Specialist Rock Hill, SC 29730 Salary Range: $22.65 - $28.31 Hourly Position Type: Full-Time Category: Operations Administration Description General Description: The purpose of this job within the organization is to identify and evaluate risks and coordinate the workers' compensation program. This job works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires an Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in human resources or related field. Requires four years of risk management experience or closely related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Special Certifications and Licenses: None Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines. Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills. Work is performed onsite. The incumbent must be present at work to perform the essential functions of this job. Essential Job Functions: Identifies and evaluates risks; coordinates Workers' Compensation program and Return to Work program; ensures timely processing of Workers' Compensation claims and posting of annual OSHA 300 Log. Manages and processes City liability claims to include auto physical damage, auto liability claims, property and general liability claims. Maintains correspondence and direct contact with insurance adjusters as applicable and with employees. Reviews monthly deductible Workers' Compensation statements; completes monthly reports and assists in the calculation of safety metrics. Manages the various City Training Certification programs, including scheduling employees, registration, completing certificates, notifying SCNSC, other vendors, and instructors to maintain certification status on all applicable employees. Maintains claims tracking program for all types of claims to ensure timely completion and effective customer service. Monitors and secures insurance for all City vehicles and property. Verifies bills, post revenues and expenditures for liability claims; participates in various Safety committees and safety assignments in support of annual safety goals. Assists Risk Management and Occupational Health Manager with monthly reports, annual payroll audits, annual budget, completion of annual reinsurance policy application for CRH; prepares annual renewal for various permitting programs. Performs other duties as assigned in relation to the City's loss prevention, safety and risk management program. Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
