Job #: 147662 Title: Jig Builder Location: Wichita, KS Salary Range: 0.00 Position: Tooling Description: The Jig Builder is responsible for planning and constructing layouts of tools and dies from Engineering, Tool Design, and/or Methods documents; reviewing Methods documents to ensure producibility and providing labor hour estimates; determining and ordering raw materials; assembling tools and dies using precision measurement equipment to ensure compliance with Engineering specifications; and troubleshooting and coordinating with Engineering, Tool Design, Production, and/or Methods to resolve construction issues. Ability to read and interpret Engineering, Methods, and Tool Design documents. Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments. Ability to set up and operate various shop machines, for example, mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, table routers, power hand tools, and a heat treat oven. Mechanical skills. Basic knowledge of safety requirements for tool and die construction. Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments. Basic knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, and algebra.Working knowledge of tool and die construction and required machinery, equipment, and raw materials. #Professional Attributes Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
