Import Buyer

Import Buyer Analyst Full-time | Monday-Friday | 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Reporting to the VP of Purchasing, the Import Buyer supports the Purchasing team by effectively managing product lines and maintaining relationships with international suppliers. This role is responsible for effective inventory replenishment. Import Buyer Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or supply chain 2-3 years of buying experience Preferred Qualifications 2-3 years of buying experience in the warehouse and distribution industry Import Buyer Duties Maintains proper inventory by placing orders and transfers in a timely fashion Expedites product and proactively responds to new volumes Provides forecasts to suppliers Anticipates seasonal and growth trends, and adjusts procurement accordingly Manages total cost to serve including freight, storage, and transfer expenses Responds professionally to internal departments and external vendors Coordinates with new vendors to assist with growing RJ Schinner business strategies Meets company inventory turns expectations Accurately orders company products following vendor procedures Completes special projects as assigned by management Knowledge warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures Supports the Sales team Other duties as assigned by management Physical Demands The Import Buyer is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear; occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds while moving files, samples, or small packages. Specific vision abilities are required for this job, which may include close vision, sound, ability to adjust focus, manual dexterity for computer keyboard and equipment usage. R.J.
