Regional Truck Driver American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Regional Truck Driver role in Schofield, WI. Job Summary The 2nd Shift Regional Truck Driver is considered a "slip-seat" position, where the driver will share a truck with a 1st Shift Driver. This role is responsible for delivering and/or picking up bulk/packaged material from suppliers or to customers in a safe and fuel-efficient manner. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to the following: Essential Responsibilities Delivering/Pick-Up of Materials The majority of loads in this role are drop & hook Deliver and/or pickup bulk/packaged material from suppliers or to customers in a safe, legal, and fuel-efficient manner, while exercising good judgment regarding weather and road conditions Drivers are required to assist in the loading and unloading of trailers Loading of trailers requires the ability to climb ladders, roll tarps back on top of the trailers, as well as the ability to climb into the back of the trailers Drivers must be able to drop and hook a trailer, which requires disconnecting hoses and cranking trailer landing gear up and down Paperwork Maintain accurate log book via onboard ELD according to ICC regulations, Driver's Trip Record, and fuel reports Communication Inspect truck and trailer for defects before and after trips and inform maintenance of any defects or issues Coordinate with Dispatcher to set up trucking schedule Provide feedback regarding changes in scheduling, delivery, pick-up or unloading times Personal Growth & Development Responsible for staying up-to-date with commercial driving regulations and required skills Attend and participate in scheduled driver and safety meetings Establish good rapport with customers/suppliers while providing feedback regarding customer/supplier needs Establish personal goals and work with fellow employees toward continuous improvement and teamwork Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Driver's License REQUIRED Minimum of 21 years of age High School Diploma or GED Ability to speak and read the English language Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
